Travel

This week at Cardz4guyz the challenge is Something beginning with T. I have chosen Travel for this one.  The stamp is one that came with its own embossing folder but I have to confess I've never used either the stamp or the folder before, I didn't like the effect when it was embossed so stuck with the stamped image alone, coloured with distress inks, Salty Ocean and Mowed Lawn and mounted onto some Kraft card, die cut star and a metal button to finish.

Hope you will join us in our challenge this week, just be sure your card is suitable for a male of any age.

Flowers

I made this card last week when my new Penny Black stamps arrived, I am totally besotted with this poppy stamp, I have ordered the matching die too, I have so many poppy stamps but I can never resist one more !  Background is Stampin Up Work Of Art set and the sentiment was in a set free with Quick cards last week, there are a lot more sentiments in the set and this one stamped beautifully, haven't tried the others yet.  Can never have too many wording stamps in my book !

I'd like to enter my card in

Make My Monday - Flowers

I have been rushing to get all my DT cards scheduled and done two posts tonight as my computer is dying on me, keeps crashing and I keep expecting each one to be its final gasp !  I am planning on taking it to the computer doctor this week and get a new hard drive fitted, fingers crossed .  I do have a laptop that I don't really get on with and an iPad which I use for most stuff but I don't know how to post photos to my blog from it , too technical for me LOL.

Christmas card for Rudolph Day

Thought I'd make a card for Rudolph Day's challenge. This is a Woodware stamp I've had a couple of years and a new embossing folder which I think will getting a lot of use.  I'd like to enter this in Rudolph Day Christmas cards challenge. I'd also like to enter it Pixies Snippets challenge - I've used pieces of scrap paper to paper piece the numbers and holly leaves

I'd also like to enter it into Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas challenge- anything goes as long as its Christmas

Basic Butterflies

Change from all the inky stuff  I have been doing lately, I saw that Allsorts Challenge is to add a butterfly, I got the Stampin Up Basic Butterflies set for Christmas last year and I have used the flowers from the set a lot but even though I love butterfly stamps I don't seem to have done a lot with these ones. I love the lace effect on them and thought it called for a doily to mount them on, I have used a Cheery Lynn die that I have had for a while and not used as it didn't cut very well on the cuttlebug, cut beautifully today on the bigshot with only a couple of passes.  background papers from stash and part of a memory box flower die.

Christmas In July

The Challenge this week at Cardz4Guyz is Christmas In July.  I thought I'd make a quick and simple card for my DT card this week but its been a series of disasters!  First version I thought I'd have a large moon behind the trees but messed it up and ended up with a green moon, second version going well until I dropped the inked stamp on the prepared background, this is the third attempt and for some reason the ink has bled a little on the sentiment stamp, don't quite understand why as I used the same versafine ink to stamp the trees and they are fine. Struggling a bit with the rheumatoid arthritis in my hands, hence dropping the stamp, yesterday I dropped a large bucket of dirty water on my kitchen floor, panic stations throwing down towels etc to stop it going under the units. I had just shampooed the carpets but didn't intend doing the kitchen floor as well. Last night dear O.H walked oil onto the carpet I had just cleaned, happy days !

Hope to see you joining in our challenge, just remember the card has to be for a man/boy, any age

Daisies

Just been playing with a new Woodware stamp, I did start out with a very pale pink version but it looked very bland so decided to go for the more vivid look!  I also used an embossing folder that I don't think I have ever used before, don't even know where it came from but now I've found it I really like it and I'm sure it will be used again. I'll probably add a sentiment later when I decide where the card is going, probably into my charity box.  I would like to enter this into Fantasy Stampers challenge - Pretty Petals

I also made an orange version of it, not my usual style or colours but I quite like this one too

Rock On!

This week at Cardz4guyz the challenge is to not use any designer papers. This is right up my street as I'm always happier making my own backgrounds.  Gone a bit wild with brushos ,never cease to be amazed at the results, I did manage to get two pieces of card quite similar which is not the easiest thing to do as they have a mind of their own!  The stamps are from an inkadinkado set which I picked up at Port Sunny in an unbelievably priced bundle and I've already used them for a few teenager cards. Don't usually use glitter on masculine cards but thought this deserved a little bit of sparkle on the music flourish. Hope you will join us this week making cards for the men of any age in your life.

Poppies

Using up another piece of card sprayed with Colour Chemistry inks, some old Hobby Art poppy stamps and a butterfly that was hovering around on my table asking to be used.  I am supposed to be making some cards for my charity card box but can't seem to raise any enthusiasm right now!

Time for a another challenge

Time for another challenge at Cardz4guyz, this week we have a sketch for you.
I've gone for a black and white theme this week, I find this is always a good choice for making cards for men.  While rooting around deciding what to do I came across these Kanban stamps which I think I picked up in a bargain bin and I don't think I've ever used them, I hadn't realised that the clock is not one stamp but three separate cicles, I really struggled to get them all lined up and in a proper circle!
Computer generated sentiment to finish off with.  Hope you will join us this week with a card suitable for a male of any age.

This month at Stamping Sensations we are asking you to Feature A Creature !  My card this month has an inky background using Oak House Inks, branch and birds stencilled with texture paste and painted. The rabbits are Crafty Individual stamps, various other stamps in the background and the sentiment is Hero Arts.  Don't forget we are a stamping challenge and we do need to see some stamping on your entry.

Blue

The lighthouse and boat stamp was a last minute purchase back in May at Port Sunlight. The verse stamp is another story, I have had it for several years and having tried to stamp it once without much success I had never tried again, today I stamped it with archival ink and to my surprise it was just perfect!  there are a whole lot of different saying on the set so will be playing with them now. The background is simply sprayed with Oak House Studio inks, there are such lovely colours in their range, I love them. I'm still sitting here melting with the heat, I've been out to our local ladies group tonight, we had a folk singer who writes all his own songs, I'm not really into folk music but tonight it just seemed right, mellow music on a lovely summer evening, was just missing the G&T so I came home and had one. Enough chatting, I would like to enter my card into

A Winters Day

This is my DT card for this months Sparkles Christmas Challenge. I have used some very old Woodware stamps to create this little scene unfortunately I can't get the colours to show up properly as it is actually stamped in brown , the mat is brown and the ribbon is cream and brown plus it has quite a lot of glitter which doesn't show either !

The challenge this month is to use Ribbon/ Lace or twine and our sponsor this month is  Fantasy Ribbons who are offering a lovely prize of a £10 voucher ( including free p&p)

Hope you will join us in our challenge this month.
